A new KB article has been released which details support for installing a new OpsMgr environment based on SQL 2008 R2 – http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2425714/en-gb

Note that upgrades to SQL 2008 R2 are not supported (this is listed as phase 2) and that there are “known issues” which are listed at the bottom of the KB article.

SQL Database – To Grow or Not to grow

The SQL team have released this guide- – Considerations for the “autogrow” and “autoshrink” settings in SQL Server which is useful reading:

Of course OpsMgr doesn’t monitor database size of databases set to autogrow (except the OpsMgr database itself) – if you need this functionality, you need to copy the monitors \ rules and edit the scripts.
